Green moong dal dosa

Green moong dal dosa

Green moong dal is the whole lentil with the husk, also known as Green Mung beans. When the husk is removed, it’s called yellow moong dal, a lentil you’ll find in many South Indian recipes. Green moong is cooling, has a lot of fibres and is a tridoshic in nature. It’s considered as very sattvic due to its properties.

1 cup - Green mung beans (soaked over night)

1 inch fresh ginger (grated)

1tsp of Salt

¼ cup of Cilantro

Step 1 - Soak the green gram overnight.

Step 2 - Blend all the ingredients, adding water little by little by bringing it to the consistency of pancake batter.

Step 3 - On a oiled hot pan, spread a ladle of batter, shape it like a crepe.

Step 4 - Sprinkle a few drops of ghee/coconut oil around and cook on medium heat.

No need to flip it, cook it well on one side.

Add ons for this recipe;

  1. Finely chopped onions in the batter (non sattvic).

  2. Baby spinach

  3. Cumin seeds

  4. Finely chopped jalapeños (non sattvic)

  5. Coconut milk

  6. Black pepper

  7. Banana peppers
