Ragi Choclate Balls

Ragi – Finger Millet is a high source of calcium, its also rich in iron, niacin and amino acids. Ragi takes a while to digest and its a sustained release of energy like oats. Consuming ragi on a regular basis strengthens the bones and helps in weight management. 

Ingredients

Roasted Ragi flour (Ragi Huri Hittu) – 200gms

Coconut oil – 3-5 tbsp

Cacoa powder or chopped dark chocolate – 2tbsp

Cinnamon – 1tsp

Jaggery – 75gms

Fresh coconut – 3tbsp

Riped bananas - optional 

Roasted nuts - optional

Preparation

  1. Mix all the above ingredients (except coconut oil) together with enough water to make a gooey dough and then add coconut oil in the end and mix well. 

  2. Roll them into lemon sized balls and serve them. 

Note* Ragi huri hittu (Ragi roasted flour) is available only in South India, especially in Karnataka. If you’re in the US, you may have to look for Ragi popped flour online. Ragi roasted flour unfortunately cannot be substituted
